Play FM Show [Jan. 10th, 2006|12:24 am]
Chaotic Radio shows are the best!
Heavy namedropping... DJ Hidden, Reduced Phat, Edgey, Subsektor, then DJ Hidden again, SunAge and whatnot...
One hour nothing but AP music and me trying to squeeze as many names into the interview as possible.. ;)

The boys from Panoptikum were well informed and I complimented them on having the Reduced-Phat-Stickers pretty much everywhere.

Thanks also to the ppl participating in the live chat... nice feedback...
and yeh we had some fun with the web cam too..

Cats... [Jan. 6th, 2006|11:56 am]
I really like animals....
but thats the point where the love ends..
if you look up what cats normally eat.. it doesnt say anything about audio cables...
I had a bunny once.. it ate my telephone, which was ok, cause i dont like the phone anyway... (and it makes an awesome excuse for not returning calls)
but... THIS... is different.. grrr...

First official announcement =) [Aug. 23rd, 2005|12:37 am]
SunAge Press Release: (I cant believe they mentioned me in the second paragraph.. =) me, the audio guy..girl)

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, August 17th : Dutch publisher Lighthouse Interactive today announced that they have signed a deal for developer Vertex4’s exciting upcoming RTS-game for PCCD ‘SunAge’. The deal will see Lighthouse publishing the title throughout all territories within Europe as well as Russia.

Lighthouse Interactive CEO Erik Schreuder commented: “SunAge had me addicted instantly. There is something about it that just makes me want to come back and go into battle every time. It has a great atmosphere to it, thanks to Austrian composer "Angina P", who did the musical score and sound FX. The diversity in the units and the deep gameplay really make this an outstanding RTS. We are confident it will be a crowd-pleaser.”

Roman Pfneudl , CEO at Vertex4 said: “I started working on the first steps of the technology and the game concept back in 1997, so I am thrilled to work together with Lighthouse and to bring SunAge to gamers around the world. I am really sure that gamers who like strategy and action will feel right at home with SunAge, while at the same time we’re adding cool stuff such as dual functionality for every unit, command queuing and much more.”

SunAge is an ‘old school’ RTS, with a bigger emphasis on hefty action than resource management and building. Set on a futuristic earth and beyond, players can choose from 3 very different races in single- and multiplayer. SunAge offers extremely smooth and deep gameplay. The overall look and feel is very similar to classic RTS games and will appeal to most fans of the strategy genre. SunAge is set for a release in February 2006.”

New Roommate [Aug. 14th, 2005|10:19 pm]
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I teamed up with this young lady. Her name is November. She likes Prosciutto. She likes to hunt my socks and run against walls. Her former humans abandoned her when she was a couple of days old.
I couldn’t say no...
We get along well so far.. But she hates the music..
She gives me that “you don’t mean this..?!”- look. See pic below..

SunAge Soundtrack [Jul. 30th, 2005|07:36 pm]
[mood | confused]
[music |SunAge Theme]

I'm working on the Soundtrack for SunAge (realtime strategy game)...
So the last 2 weeks I was trying to write the Main Theme for it... its slowly coming together now... very slowly.. I try to mix the usual orchestral movie stuff with some broken beats... but the more I wanna make it something special, the worse it gets...

anyway, I finished another track out of frustration over the soundtrack - I prolly got a whole "SunAge Frustration Album" done by the time the soundtrack is ready.. ;)
I'll post links when its offical an all..

Rhiz Night [Jul. 10th, 2005|10:59 am]
Super nice evening. This is how an event SHOULD be. Analyze it. Study it. Write it down. Try to copy it. A friendly competent audio guy at the soundcheck. (Yeh there ARE engineers like that!) The right quantity and quality of ppl. Brave ppl. Knowing ppl. Open-minded ppl. Wonderful moderation of Vienna's HipHop Lady Mieze Medusa. Thanks to the the Temp Recs Crew! :)

Got this mail from LA's DJ Humorless in my mailbox:
"I saw Angina P. tonight at the Rhiz and I liked it very much. Definitely not drum/drill n bass. Definitely not ambient. I would call it moody IDM. Super high quality. Reminded me of Quench's Exclude, oder Gridlock's Formless, S:Cage aka Splintercage's Remote, or maybe Displacer's Moon_Phase- all top notch moody IDM and albums you should own anyway. Fuckin' pro."

Studio News [Jul. 4th, 2005|11:44 am]
[mood | satisfied]

Finally rebuild my whole studio. Threw out tons of equipment.. but got me some new toys instead! You wouldn't believe what I found down there behind all that cables and dust:
An answermachine - (I have a phone?) - a flowerpot (wtf?) - an university calendar of 97 - (I've been to school?)

Gender Studies [Jul. 3rd, 2005|11:47 am]
[mood | annoyed]

Best wishes to the lovely sellers at the audio equipment store at this point! Its always good to have some smart guys around to remind you what YOU REALLY need - and that the way you ask questions about the product already shows how little you understand about technology.
Its important to show women where their place is.. Too bad it turned out that I seemed to be the only one among the whole crew of audio specialists who knew how to connect 5 MIDI Devices. It's a crazy world: the best golfer is black, the most famous rapper white and the person who sets up a studio is a Blonde!
